Why GitLab asks for access

PipeDash needs API access to read pipeline status.

  • Read your profileUsed to create your PipeDash session and apply workspace access rules.
  • Read projects and groupsUsed to find projects you are allowed to track and skip anything outside your GitLab access.
  • Read pipelines, jobs, and logsUsed to render the timeline, job details, and log viewer.

Sign-in is read-only. PipeDash asks separately for write access if you later retry a job, start a manual job, or manage project variables. Tokens are encrypted at rest.
